SAUCY MAMA® GOES BLOG WILD

Barhyte Specialty Foods® Launches New Brand Online at www.saucymamacafe.com

SAN FRANCISCO / Fancy Food Show – Booth #272 (January 18, 2009) – – – Saucy Mama® may have just taken her own signature brand live, but Saucy Mama® V2.0 is already up and running. Barhyte Specialty Foods®, which recently re-launched its core brand under the Saucy Mama® name, also has secured its presence through social media tools including Twitter and its blog at www.saucymamacafe.com..

Suzie Barhyte, the woman behind the new brand, for many years has crafted the company’s rich and flavorful recipes. As if that was not enough, she’s now creating regular online updates, offering visitors insight about the family behind the mustard; about the recipes coming from her home kitchen; and about the creations emerging from her test kitchen as well.

This month, Saucy Mama® is introducing a monthly giveaway promotion enabling visitors the chance to win cases of Saucy Mama® dressings, marinades, mustards and condiments. Additionally, she will offer prize packages featuring licensed goods manufactured by Barhyte Specialty Foods® for companies including Food & Wine, NoHo’s Café, Tanqueray, and the Lords of Salt line of artisan salts.

“Mom’s always been a bit ahead of her time,” explains son Chris Barhyte, who also is the company’s vice president of sales. “The moment we introduced her to blogging, she couldn’t wait to dive in head first – just like anything new she tackles. Next thing you know, she’s probably going to have her own Facebook Fan Page. There will be no stopping her at that point!”

Check out the latest updates from Saucy Mama® by visiting her at www.saucymamacafe.com. , or look for her on Twitter at www.twitter.com/saucymamacafe..

Barhyte Specialty Foods®, based out of Pendleton, Oregon, has roots dating back 200 years and 6,000 miles away in Germany, where Jacobus Barhyte first created a sweet and sour mustard that he brought to the US. Many generations later, Jan and Susan Barhyte began selling mustard from the original recipe, as well as other signature creations, through their Swift and Martin Station Deli. Thanks to overwhelming demand, the family launched their own manufacturing operation in 1977. Today, the company offers more than 65 award-winning mustards, marinades, sauces, and other condiments.
